With November just starting, you may be focusing on preparing for the holidays. However, there are many fun, local events that can help you take advantage of the month without stressing over centerpieces and dinner recipes. Check out all of these local events in the Conejo Valley that you can enjoy with your whole family.
On November 15th, head out to Mission Oaks Park in Camarillo for the Camarillo Offroad 5K and Kids 1K. The fun and challenging course takes participants through grass and dirt trails and helps to benefit the Adolfo Camarillo High School Cross Country Team. The 5K starts at 8 a.m. and the free Kids 1K is for children 12 years old and younger and will start around 9 a.m.
“The Magic of Christmas” Holiday Boutique in Westlake Village is opening on November 21st from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is being sponsored by the Women’s Ministries Council of the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village and helps to support its mission, scholarship, and outreach programs. The boutique will feature baked goods, canned and pickled goods, fall and Christmas decorations, stitched and knitted items, and much more. You also have the chance to purchase an alternative Christmas gift, such as a chicken or blanket, for a family in need around the world.
If you are looking to get active before enjoying all of the holiday treats, you will not want to miss out on the 11th Annual Turkey Day Dash in Thousand Oaks. On November 26th, head out to California Lutheran University to take part in the 5K run/walk or 1K fun run/walk. The races start at 7:30 a.m. to ensure that you have plenty of time to make it home to cook your Thanksgiving turkey!
